My 2017 has been flawless, an absolute monster!

Monocorque frame, Engine being a major part of the frame is a great concept to save weight and material. This concept is used in Royal Enfield meteor 350 too, the front lower part of the frame is the engine casing itself and has proven to be very rigid and stable. It's a great utilisation of strong engine bodies which happens to be surprisingly very stable. One may think of it as something that would harm the engine or something that wont be reliable or durable but it comes out otherwise.

I have had a number of bikes over the years but without doubt the best bike I ever owned was my RG 500 Suzuki. It stood out from the crowd even tho it was a relatively small bike. I really regretted parting with that bike, biggest mistake I made but finances weren’t good back then so didn’t have much choice.

With exhaust, nash flash, tokico coils, clutch mod, airbox mod mine has dipped low 9’s.

I regret selling my 2006 999 to this day. Second hand prices are crazy right now, so they’re already gaining the monumental status that they deserve. The design still looks great today. The ride quality still on par with many current sport bikes. I’ve been riding a 1200S Multistrada for 6 years now, but still on the lookout to buy a decent 2005-2006 999. Sweet.

sadly the 750s were more popular at mid 80s. rg 500 came at the wrong time. if it was a couple of years earlier it could dominate. if it came later it could benefit from the late 80s design and technology which more or less it stands until today if you dont count euro 5 and electronics. bimota vdue is the best 500 example but only with carbs, injection ruined that bike

Ducati should do Moto3 which is the spiritual successor to Supermono class.

E-clutch will be the new tech on the motorcycle. No worries, the diehard old school mentality that wants to change gears without any help still has the option to do so. I myself enjoy stick shift on my previous vehicle, but do to crazy city traffic "Boston" I gave up & switched to auto since 2014. If I buy a motorcycle in the next year or so, it will be e-clutch for sure.

Well now this is a interesting video and a very interesting motorcycle. I owned the 1972 500 triple H1 Kawasaki and then I bought a 75-900cc Z1 Kawasaki. They were both awesome machines and I enjoyed both of them immensely. At that time I didn't care how they handle. I just wanted to go fast.

You had to grind the welds back on the inside of the flange at the top of the exhaust. Then you got full factory power. The welds were a bit lumpy.

If you think about how rare the 1299 is on the road it being a "dirtier" motor, on the grand scale makes no environmental impact. Fact is the V-twin could not compete with the inline 4 any longer. The V-twin was just maxed out. Honda, Aprilia all gave up the V-twin in WSBK for a reason. Ducati was just a bit more stubborn to make it happen.

Taught neighbor's son to ride at age 7 he learned early. He managed to buy one of these at age 17 .....Glad to say he lived to talk about owning this monster of a Bike ......His early respect for Bikes was key .

for additional structural integrity the 2 main beams of the twin-spar perimeter Delta frame could do with a lateral cross member, if possible . . .

I don't know, we Indians very rarely drive off road, because most of our city roads is not perfect, that is our off road. So will be very happy if new KTM adv has good low end torque to maneuver bike in city easily. And please keep the weight less to have good power to weight ratio.

It doesnt sound like a twin... it sounds similar to the r1. Because their firing orders are similar

Never rode one , but apparently it was a bit of a tw*t to ride as the power band was very narrow and to use it properly ylu had to change up at EXACTLY the right time or it would avya . 👍👊🇬🇧🏍️

My dad owned 3 or 4 of those over the years. They were a near bike. One of the colors was a beautiful candy apple red. They were interesting to ride as once you were in the right gear, you almost didn’t need to shift due to the rather wide power band.
